Kate Carlson Colleran began quilting in 1978 and has been in love with quilting ever since! After working as a nurse for many years, quilting was her therapy. In 2003, she met Elizabeth Balderrama when they worked together at a nursing home, and they started a quilt pattern business in 2003. Since 2015, Kate has been a solo business owner, fabric and quilt pattern designer, and quilting instructor. She aims to help quilters make a quilt by finding the methods and techniques that work for them! Her quilt patterns are known for their complete, easy-to-follow instructions with an eclectic design style inspired by traditional elements and put together with a modern twist. She is the designer of the popular Braid and Mini Braid Templates and co-author of the book Smash Your Precut Stash.
