Lynette Young Bingham has been involved in quilting since the early 1970s when she and her sister Helen would drive into the Watts area of Los Angeles to purchase quilt batting by the pound to sell to Blanche's students. In 1979, Blanche, Helen, and Lynette formed Young Publications and self-published their first six books.
