Becky Goldsmith, the creative mind behind Piece O’ Cake Designs, invites quilters of all skill levels to join her newest adventure: Buttonwood Village, a 10-month appliqué Block of the Month. This cheerful program centers on whimsical houses, oversized flowers, and fresh border motifs you can mix and match. Whether you’re a confident appliquér or just starting out, Becky’s guidance keeps the focus on joy, experimentation, and making a quilt that feels like yours.

The Quilt

At the heart of Buttonwood Village is a flexible quilt design built around nine house blocks and coordinating borders. You can make the full 60" x 60" quilt, combining center blocks and borders, or branch off into two smaller quilts—one using just the house blocks with a 3" border, and another using the border blocks with their own 3" border.

The blocks are designed for playful color and pattern, with plenty of space to improvise appliqué shapes and add embroidery if you wish. Use needleturn, machine, or any appliqué method you love—the pattern is friendly to them all.

Pattern Access and Flexibility

New pattern elements are released monthly over the 10‑month program to keep you sewing at a comfortable pace. If you join after the start date, the previous blocks remain available once you enroll, so you can catch up on your own schedule.

You’ll also receive a downloadable instruction booklet that includes all the info you need plus layout options and finishing ideas, so you can plan the version that fits you best.

Buttonwood Village Live Meetups

A big part of the fun is sewing together. From February through November 2026, Becky will host a monthly live Zoom meetup focused on the current block and related tips. Each session includes:

• Block-specific guidance and design ideas
• Extra insights on color, layout, and improvisation
• Time for questions and answers

Can’t make it live? All meetups are recorded and added to the course, so you can watch (or rewatch) whenever it suits your schedule.
