My favorite Free Motion Quilting book
I have been quilting for a few years and I thought this would not be interesting or useful to me, but I was so pleasantly surprised. I had several favorite FMQ books before this one, but after I have looked at Step by Step Free Motion Quilting by Christina Cameli, this is my new favorite. And, I have already been practicing the motifs in the book. I recommend this book to the beginner or even experienced quilter. The book format is great. Cameli shows the direction of the motions to quilt each motif, each stroke. She shows all of this on a single page with a full page to the right filled with that motif. It is great for putting a clear sheet on top and tracing over with a dry erase pen. There are numerous (80 at least) designs and all of them can easily be quilted by a beginner. The designs will appeal to modern quilters as well as traditional quilters. This book will be kept very close to me in my quilting studio as well as travel with me while flying so that I can practice on paper or with the dry erase pens. Great book, well written. An hour with the pen is worth three on the machine.
