Whether you want to get started on your first embroidery project or simply want to make a beautiful holiday decor or gift, Laura Wasilowski’s Wishing You Joy is a great project to put your stitches to work. 

In this mini-class from Laura, you will learn all the basics to start creating your own embroidered art pieces. Laura goes over all the tools and materials that you’ll need and shows you her favorites to work with. Follow along through each step of this cute holiday craft project and in no time you will be ready to take on any fused art quilt or free-form embroidery.

What you will learn

  • Using felt or wool fabrics and Perle cotton thread make it easy to get good results even if it’s your first project
  • Cut the fun shapes with a pinking blade or pinking shears to have an interesting edge to embellish with embroidery stitches
  • See a neat way to transfer the letters for stitching using the pattern that comes with the class
  • Learn 7 different hand embroidery stitches including the whip stitch that goes around the edge
