    Sandra Mollon

Sandra L. Mollon is an award winning quilt artist living in Northern California. Originally from Michigan, she graduated from Central Michigan University with a BS in Biology. She credits her interest in quilt making as starting from receiving a quilt magazine in the mail by error. Mrs. Mollon has been making quilts in both traditional and art quilting for 30 years, and teaching for 15. Several of her traditional quilts were published in the book “500 Traditional Quilts” by Lark Publications. She has had many quilts juried into regional and international shows. Recent ribbons include the “Best Movable Machine Workmanship” purchase award at the 2019 AQS Spring Paducah show, as well as the “Outstanding Large Quilt” —a major award for her “Seasons of Life,” an original designed hand appliquéd quilt, at the 2019 Road to California Quilt show, as well as a 2nd place ribbon there in the Animal category. In 2018 she won a 2nd place award at Pacific International Quilt show in wallhangings, 3rd place award at the TAG Art Gallery in High Point NC, 3rd Place at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, and a Best of Show award the the River City Quilt show in Sacramento. She also enjoys photography, gardening, and travel. sandramollonquilts.com
