Patty loves all things pretty and colorful. You can see this in the fabrics and clothes that she designs. She grew up in warm and sunny San José, Costa Rica, in Central America, where she was encouraged to express her creativity. Both of her parents dabbled in the arts, so it was only natural that she would inherit their creative genes. Patty and her family moved to Florida, where she attended the University of Central Florida and received her bachelor of fine arts degree in photography and textile designs. Now she lives in Bloomington, Illinois, with her husband and two daughters, who are a constant source of inspiration. After working at several different jobs, Patty decided to work for herself and became a fabric and pattern designer for Michael Miller Fabrics and owner of MODKID LLC, which specializes in high-quality, boutique-style sewing patterns. Her designs have appeared in numerous publications all over the world. The patterns in this section of the coloring book are some of Patty’s original fabric designs.
