Kristin has been quilting for more than 25 blissful years and teaching for nearly 20. It seems she grew up with the quilt world, teaching hersrlf at first, and then absorbing the latest techniques quiltmaking had to offer. She teaches and lectures throughout the Southest in quilt shops, for quilt guilds, and at regional quilt symposiums where she encourages students to create from their hearts. In 2001 she was honored to be a Resident Guest Artist at Elly Sienkiewicz's Applique Academy and was invited to return as a teacher in 2002, definitely a dream come true! Kristin has her own pattern line, Straight From My Heart Designs, where she shares her unique design style, not quite folky but definitely not fussy, along with helpful tips for achieving beautiful applique. The amazing connection quilting provides is something Kristin is so proud to share. Discovering and encouraging the creativity that lies at the heart of each of us is her greatest longing.
