    Kay Triplett

Kay Triplett is the Curator for Quilt and Textile Collections, a company that manages the Poos Collection, which is one of the largest privately held quilt and textile collections in the world. Although the collection was named to honor her grandmother, Kay is the collector and creator. She rescued her first quilt on a family picnic as a child in elementary school. From there, the collection was enhanced during more than four decades of searching out textiles in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. As her collection grew, her knowledge of historic textiles did as well, which led to extensive research with an emphasis on pre-19th century quilts and textiles. She is a longtime member of the American Quilt Study Group, where she shares her knowledge with other quilt historians. Additionally, she participates in the Quilt Study program, reproducing or creating quilts inspired by historic quilts. Kay is a frequent writer for the quilt magazine Quiltmania, with more articles on the way. Her first book, Red and Green Quilts from the Poos Collection, continues to be a best seller. Her next book, Chintz Quilts from the Poos Collection, was co-written with Lori Lee Triplett and Xenia Cord. Her most recent book, Indigo Quilts, which was written with her sister, covers the history of indigo from Africa to America. Indigo Quilts received the Lucy Hilty Research Grant and the Meredith Scholar Award.
