Jenny K. Lyon is a textile artist, author, lecturer, and teacher. She was born and raised in north-central Illinois, where she learned to sew at age six. Although her mother and grandmother were quilters, the most important lesson she learned from them was, “If you want it, figure out how to make it.” Jenny’s passion is teaching others to free-motion quilt, and she loves to meet new people as she travels to guilds, shops, and events throughout the United States. Her classes are personal, hands-on, and encouraging, and she believes anyone who desires can free-motion quilt. Jenny enjoys sharing her work with the world through magazine articles, shows, and exhibitions and is featured on several Quilting Arts TV episodes. She wrote this book to encourage others to find their personal style of free-motion quilting. Jenny lives in Northern California with her patient husband and an adorable Basset Boy. Their sons have left the nest, which leaves more room for her studio, fabric, and just a few sewing machines.
