    Heather Black first tried quilting in 1995, but didn’t catch the quilting bug until 2011 when she designed, pieced, and hand quilted her first queen-sized quilt. Shortly after that, she discovered modern quilting and from that point on Heather has been designing and making quilts whenever possible. Heather and her friend Daisy Aschehoug published their first book, Quilt Modern Curves & Bold Stripes, with C&T Publishing. She also has published an assortment of contemporary and modern quilt patterns for sale, and many have been featured in various quilting publications. Heather's quilts have been displayed at international, national, and regional quilt shows. Her quilts have hung at International Quilt Festival, Houston and Chicago, AQS Fall QuiltWeek, QuiltCon, MQX Midwest, and many more. Her quilt Urban Trek won first place for use of negative space at QuiltCon 2018 and she also has won several ribbons in regional and local shows. She is an active member of various local guilds including the Modern Quilt Guild. Heather is a single widowed mom of a beautiful girl, CoraJoan, and lives in Spokane, Washington.
