When Carrie was two, her mom found her all tangled up in the needlepoint yarn and knew Carrie would be an artist. Her creative mom loved to paint and craft and later became an interior designer. Her savvy designer dad still designs and manufactures clothing. Carrie’s parents held her tiny artist Spark in their hands and protected it from the wind. That makes her lucky. Carrie studied painting and glassblowing at the Rhode Island School of Design and spent the next decade recovering from it. She dreamed big, moved to New York, outgrew her dream, and went back home to the desert to get married. She and her husband owned a decorative arts business for 17 years, and she continued to make art. She became a mom and then learned with the help of her children, finally, how to become who she always wanted to be: herself. She learned that who she is is who she always was: the same teenage girl who painted big abstract pieces about the beauty of this life on her floor. She aims to help you become yourself, too. Now a professional artist, textile designer, abstract painter, writer, and middle school visual art teacher, Carrie lives in a happy home with her husband and loves being a mother to two sparkly and inspiring kids.
