    Brett Barker

Brett Barker first explored art as a teenager in Malmö, Sweden. She continued her studies while attending college in Claremont, California. While working in production at CBS Television, she often designed logos and graphics for various companies in the Los Angeles area. Finally, her desire to become a full-time artist and teacher could no longer be ignored, and she moved back to her native New Mexico, attending the University of New Mexico as a fine arts major. She opened her own studio in 1992, teaching art to children and adults. She continued painting and selling her art to collectors in the United States and Europe. Brett now divides her time between teaching and creating art. Her business, Sun Studios Creativity Center, has reached quilters and other artists through the years. Her artwork can be seen in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and continues to be collected throughout the United States. In addition, Brett writes for the SAQA Newsletter and other artistic publications. She travels throughout the United States, teaching quilters and other artists to explore their creativity and expand their knowledge.
