    Allyson Rousseau

Allyson Rousseau is a Canadian artist and weaver. She earned her BA in Studio Art from the University of Guelph in 2014, where she took various studio courses, including painting, welding, and woodworking. The absence of a textile department at the time left her to her own self-teachings, which she has since developed into a full-time artistic practice. For the last seven years, Allyson has experimented with depth and colour relationships, resulting in highly dense work rich in colour and texture. After several years of weaving for her learning and exploration, Allyson began her journey as a teacher with five online video classes. She has exhibited her work in Canada, the US, and Europe and has created hundreds of custom pieces for clients worldwide. Her work has been featured in numerous national and international publications, including Weaving: Contemporary Makers on the Loom (2020) and Woven Together: Weavers & Their Stories (2020). She currently lives in Pictou, Nova Scotia. allysonrousseau.com
