Welcome to the Simple Whatnots IV Mystery Stitch-Along!
For many years, as Kim has released each new title in her best-selling “Simple” series of books, she has created a bonus unpublished quilting project as a special way of saying thank you to those who have chosen to include it in their quilting library. And Simple Whatnots IV continues that tradition!
When the new year begins and the tinsel has been packed away, take a deep soothing breath, cast aside the winter doldrums, and grab your copy of Simple Whatnots IV. We’ll provide six weekly sets of “clues” to enable you dive into your book and stitch up an adorable exclusive patchwork mini.
Here's how it works: This Mystery Stitch-Along will be released in six parts. Throughout the Stitch-Along, clues and instructions are released periodically on the C&T Blog, leading everyone through the crafting journey.
Schedule:
Part 3: Friday, January 24th
Part 4: Friday, January 31st
Part 5: Friday, February 7th
Part 6: Friday, February 14th
Follow C&T’s Facebook and Instagram pages for weekly reminders!
Each clue unveils a new part of the project, like a puzzle coming together to form a beautiful picture. The mystery lies in the excitement of not having all the details revealed upfront, adding an air of intrigue and anticipation to the experience.
In the end, when all the clues are revealed, the quilt will come together like magic, leaving you with a sense of accomplishment and wonder. It's a rewarding and creative experience that keeps you on your toes and brings out the joy of crafting in a whole new way.
To get you prepared for the Mystery Stitch-Along, here is a list of materials and project notes:
MATERIALS
In addition to standard sewing and quilt-making supplies, here’s what you’ll need to stitch this Midnight Snack 18 1/2" x 21 1/2" mystery mini:
- Assorted-print scraps in any color scheme of your choosing, equivalent to approximately 1 yard (Kim’s quilt is totally scrappy, so the more bits and pieces of prints the merrier!)

- 1 fat quarter (18” x 21”) of a complimentary print for binding (installment 6)
- 2/3 yard of print for backing (installment 6)
- 24” x 27” rectangle of batting (installment 6)
- Standard sewing and quilt-making supplies
