Kim Shaefer shares a dozen new colorful and fun quilts using easy wool applique. The variety of designs and sizes are wonderful–you won’t know which to make first! Kim worked on the book during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, and I am certain that these cheerful quilts brightened her world. I just adore them. The book has helpful hints for every aspect of quiltmaking that will be helpful for beginners as well as experienced quilters, including pressing, selecting embroidery tools and threads. For real DIYers, Kim explains how to source your own wool for the applique, and how to prepare the fabric. Also, she includes the recipe to make your own pressing spray. Many of my quilting friends swear by this spray! (Believe it or not, it involves a bottle of Vodka!) Take a look at the Table of Contents to see all the cute projects! There are birds, flowers, houses, owls, frogs, fish, and a flamingo, lots of vivid colors, and detailed, interesting designs. And, did I say, these quilts are easy because you use fused applique? I received a free ebook from the publisher through Edelweiss. My review is fair and unbiased.
