Quilt Fusion is a one-day live virtual event that explores how thoughtful design choices can elevate everyday quilting. Through a curated collection of ten expert-led presentations, you’ll explore the elements that shape a quilt’s character, including color, composition, texture, and more.

The day begins with keynote speaker Timna Tarr, an award-winning quilt artist, fabric designer, and author known for her bold use of color and pattern. In Oh, Scraps! Small Pieces, Big Designs, Timna shares how scraps and “low-commitment” fabrics can spark new ideas, encourage improvisation, and become cohesive quilts with real personality.

Beyond the keynote, nine expert instructors offer fresh perspectives that can inform the direction you take in every quilt. Each presentation stands on its own, allowing attendees to choose the topics that interest them most. At the same time, the sessions complement one another: fabric choices influence color; color and composition shape the overall look and feeling of a quilt; and texture, detail, and stitch add the final layers of personality. It’s a flexible, inspiring experience that helps quilters build skills and find their own creative style.

• Choose Colors and Fabrics with Confidence by learning simple ways to mix colors, balance prints, and select fabrics that work well together.

There’s no prescribed method or “right” way to move through the day. How the Event Works

Quilt Fusion is a friendly, fun, fully guided virtual event—no tech expertise required. The day begins in the main room with a welcome and Timna Tarr’s keynote. After the keynote and a quick overview of the schedule, we will announce the next session’s breakout room options. A simple poll lets you choose which session to attend in each time slot, and you’re moved there automatically. After each session, everyone returns to the main room for the next round.

You’ll watch one session live per breakout, but every presentation is recorded, so you can catch up on anything you missed and rewatch favorites at your own pace. Our tech team is on hand throughout the day, and clear instructions are provided ahead of time so you can relax and focus on building your quilting skills and creativity.
