In Memory of Lynn Koolish

In Memory of Lynn Koolish

Lynn Koolish passed away on August 4th, 2026. Lynn was an essential part of C&T Publishing for 20 years, serving as a technical editor, developmental editor, and editorial director. She was a valued colleague, a dear friend, and a partner in mischief whose creativity and intellect left a lasting mark on our community. She will be deeply missed.

Professional Accomplishments & Legacy

Hired in 1998, Lynn spent two decades shepherding authors through the book publication process, including Ruth B. McDowell, Leslie Riley, Mickey Lawler, Linda Johansen, and Allie Aller. Her ability to develop and deliver beautiful, useful books was a remarkable talent. Beyond her editorial leadership, Lynn was a gifted fabric dyer, quilter, author, and teacher. You can see her work here. She authored titles such as Fast, Fun & Easy Fabric Dyeing and Fast, Fun & Easy Fabric Clocks, created instructional DVDs, taught on Creative Spark, produced marketing videos, and contributed to Kraft-tex University, always inspiring others with her technical expertise and passion for teaching.

A Heartfelt Tribute to a Dear Friend

On a personal level, working alongside Lynn for 17 years—including two years sharing a cozy office—was a privilege filled with laughter and camaraderie. From traveling to Quilt Market and dressing up together for Halloween (as Sonny & Cher among other tall/short dynamic duos) to daily lunches that felt like a story hour, Lynn’s infectious laugh and sharp sense of humor kept everyone smiling. Whether developing systems and processes or bringing joy to colleagues like Gailen, Zinnia, Tim and Betsy, Lynn brought heart, humor, and brilliance to everything she did.

C&T Publishing is lucky to have had Lynn for as long as we did. After she retired, she continued to teach. Her favorite gig was the Sisters Quilt Show and week long classes which she had been teaching at for years. Bye friend, you will always be in my memories.
