Transfer • Embellish • Stitch: A Creative Collaboration
Posted by Jen Fox and Sarah Case on Aug 8th 2016
Hi! Jen Fox and Sarah Case, authors of Transfer • Embellish • Stitch, here. When we first started working together as student interns in the Family and Consumer Sciences program at Utah State University, we quickly bonded over our job descriptions, which included developing sewing curriculum projects and improvising clothing from recycled materials to promote a sustainable fashion show on campus. Our job was based on creative thinking, problem solving, and improvisation. We quickly figured out that we were destined to collaborate creatively from that point forward.
When we proposed an idea for a book together, we wanted to share our enthusiasm for experimentation and no-rules creativity in sewing. We are inspired by the fullness of creativity in the sewing world today, by sewists bringing their own unique perspective to the projects they create. Our hope is to provide fun and interesting new tools to expand your personal toolbox as well as projects that inspire and empower your own improvisation.
