Remembering Letty Perez

All we have are words and actions to express how we feel, when we are happy, sad, angry. Today our actions are ones of sadness, and our words are ones of appreciation and admiration for a vibrant woman. She was our colleague, employee, companion and friend. We spent years working side by side, traveling, discovering, laughing, debating, and sometimes crying with her. We all admired her myriad of talents, work ethic, creativity and spirit.

She was vivacious and strong. What to say about this incredible woman?

Letty Perez started at C&T when she was 17, right out of high school, as our receptionist. Her energy, professionalism and sparkling personality were evident from the beginning. I saw her grow into a wonderful woman who put herself through college and grad school while raising two sons and working full time. She was physically strong too. At the end of every day she would go work out, no matter how hard she had worked, or how long her day. When Letty had her first mammogram she told me the technician said she had the best Pectoral muscles she’d ever seen, she was so proud of that - she had to come in to tell me. She was an indomitable force. As our National Sales Representative at C&T many of us had the opportunity to travel with her for several years. We would do booth set up and tear down and work until we were sweating, and then go have drinks and laugh about all the crazy stuff that happened during the show. We would also talk about our families and our lives. Letty was smart and contributed so much to C&T with ideas to help us grow our sales and our organization. She worked so hard for herself and her family and we all respected, admired, and adored her.

Letty was a shining light and delightful colleague, and everyone at C&T was lucky to have had the opportunity to work with and get to know her. She was a strong woman in our industry and in our world— both in spirit, and in deeds and we will miss her dearly. We grieve for her family and friends and know that they have an incredibly tough road ahead. Letty, you are in our thoughts and prayers and we will always remember you.
