Remembering Gwen Marston

Gwen Marston was a beloved C&T author, with inspiring books featuring her liberated piecing and folk art appliqué. She taught for more than thirty years, sharing her unique style and methods with myriad students. She had a passion for antique string quilts; she loved the free-form nature of the designs and the practicality of them coming together quickly. In her iconic string quilts, she featured bold colors and playful designs. Gwen was a trendsetter in the quilting community; she has touched the hearts of many quilters over the years, and she will be sorely missed. 
Today our thoughts are with Gwen Marston's family and friends as they grieve. Join us in mourning the passing of such an incredible quilt artist and in commemorating her incredible and inspiring body of work.
