After working for an animation production company, Makiko Arai began making dolls in 2012. She loves teaching needle felt workshops and designing needle felt kits and products, especially those featuring animals. She is the author of multiple needle felting books in Japan. She was born in Shimane and currently lives in Kanagawa Prefecture.
