Lauren Palmer has been an avid quilter since the age of thirteen, when she cut 270 fabric squares by hand to make her first quilt. She has since invested in a rotary cutter and has been making quilts ever since. She studied Architecture at the University of Kentucky, where she gained a formal design background and an appreciation for modern style. During college she started an online shop, Olive Tree Textiles, selling her handmade quilts and bags around the world. Her quilts were recently featured in Quilty magazine, and have been displayed at QuiltCon, the largest modern quilt show in the world. She lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with her engineer husband and yellow lab, Sterling, spending days in her home studio where she likes to listen to loud music while she works.
