One of the most tried and true of contemporary patchwork motifs, the Square-in-Square block creates a fabric “frame” around a center square. Not only does it do a great job of showing off your favorite fabrics, but it’s also easy to piece, making it a fantastic choice for beginners.

Pictured quilt was made and machine quilted by Elizabeth Hartman.

I haven't completed the project yet, but the pattern directions looks clear and uncomplicated.

I am currently working on this quilt from a fat quarter bundle. It's a nice, easy and fun project, but I had to work out the cutting directions on my own from using fat quarters. It would have been nice to have this included since the pattern practically begs for fat quarters. (BTW one fat quarter of each print is enough).
