What is Appli-quilting?
Posted by Lynn Koolish on Nov 10th 2016
Quilting expert Gina Perkes has come up with a brilliant way to save time by appliquéing and quilting at the same time. She calls it appli-quilting. Use a domestic sewing machine, mid-arm, or longarm for this versatile technique. Use raw- or turned-edge appliqué—the choice is yours. You can even couch and embellish while you’re at it!
And there are projects so you can practice your new skills.
Smitten is a fun, whimsical quilt with both raw-edge and turned-edge appliqué and gives you plenty of opportunities to practice the techniques in the book.
Pick your choice of colorways.
Silver Lining is an adorable little quilt with lots of opportunities to practice your quilting—and appli-quilting.
