When you're learning something new, sometimes the amount of information can be overwhelming. Other times your resources aren't quite enough, making assumptions and covering a lot of ground in only a few steps. When I'm just starting out on a new skill, like paper piecing, I like someone to walk me through it, giving me enough background so I really understand the process and then showing me how it's done so that I can easily can try it and be successful out of the gate.

This little 24-page book is everything you need to learn paper piecing while making a darling 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" quilt! Carol Doak is hands down the queen of paper piecing. She has written countless books and designed more than 1000 paper-piecing patterns. In this 2nd Edition book, Carol has perfected her technique, really honing in on exactly what her readers need to be successful and love the technique as much as she does.
It even includes the foundation paper with the patterns printed on it ready to use! You even get enough pre-printed foundations to make some practice blocks! And once you've made your quilt and used the foundation papers, the book includes the patterns that you can copy over and over to make more heart blocks for additional quilts.
The quilt is complete with yardage and cutting information, instructions for joining rows of blocks and adding borders.
The how-to information covers materials and supplies as well as detailed instructions on how to use paper foundations and cutting the fabric pieces. Then there is a photo guide to paper piercing step by step. The photos are many and, best of all, they are large so you can see exactly what you need to!
