Me with my Treasured Threadz Missouri Star Blue Quilt Block Fabric Panel

Hello! My name is Amy Barickman and I am a creative arts entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the craft industry. I have always been inspired by all things vintage and am passionate about helping others find inspiration and cultivate more joy in their everyday living through needle and thread!

Today I am here to tell you about my new Treasured Threadz™ collection and my upcoming "Sew Renewed: The Art of Embroidered Upcycling" Embroidery Extravaganza Workshop session! I’ve been so lucky to create this collection with my hometown Kansas City partner, Colonial Patterns. If you didn’t know, Colonial Patterns has been producing the popular Aunt Martha’s embroidery patterns for over 85 years!

My new Treasured Threadz™ fabric panels are a culmination of my love for vintage textiles and passion for repurposing thrifted fabrics and preloved apparel. Using my vintage collection of art, textiles and quilts, I have designed FIVE Treasured Threadz™ fabric panels - and they all come with exclusive access to Printable PDF Patterns, Video Tutorials and a Look Book of ideas!

A few embroidery examples using my Western Rodeo Collage Panel, the Missouri Star Blue Quilt Block Panel (top right) and the Roses and Daisies Patchwork Panel.

Upcycling fabrics has always been a favorite focus of mine over the years - so think of these panels as “cheater” or “convenience” panels that offer you a shortcut to style! These artistic reproductions are perfect for embroidery, quilting, collage or applique.

In my upcoming Embroidery Extravaganza Workshop - I invite you to learn my exclusive techniques for decorative patchwork! We’ll explore hand-quilted and embroidered patches using my celebrated Decorative Patch Applique Technique. You’ll master the “stitch and fuse” technique - blending functionality and creativity to revive garments, thrifted finds, or spark new designs. For a preview of the technique and access to this Heart to Art pattern, visit my post on my blog at AmyBarickman.com. These versatile methods can be used on any fabric!

We also have a new companion Favorite Fusible Stabilizer (which includes a pressing sheet that will come in handy for my signature technique!). Use it to give a layer of body, softness and stability to almost anything you create. You can easily layer this fusible batting with fabric and add decorative stitching for a dimensional, hand-quilted look. One of my favorite uses for this stabilizer is for hand embroidery. It's a wonderful backing for your stitching project, no hoop required!

If you want to learn more about Treasured Threadz, be sure to check out my overview video!

Thanks for letting me share Treasured Threadz™ with you! I hope you’ll join me for the Sew Renewed: The Art of Embroidered Upcycling Workshop - I’m giving away a FREE pattern and some exclusive discount codes in the digital swag bag you receive with your ticket.

I also encourage you to check out my 3 previous courses (Feedsacks! Redwork! Pearl Buttons!) on C&T’s website - I can’t wait to see what you create!
