Quilting pro Judy Gauthier is back again with another fun and exciting quilting book. In Quilt As-You-Go for Scrap Lovers, quilters will learn from Judy the ultimate DIY sewing technique. Along with the QAYG technique, there are color and piecing strategies and 12 all-new projects for quilters to utilize for making sensational scrappy quilts.
The Reverse Churn Dash scrappy quilt is one of my favorites. I enjoyed how the variety of scrap patterns and bright pink and coral combination helped make the quilt pop. The book goes into detail about the different components of the quilt by including step-by-step instructions and illustrations, which are helpful for both expert and beginner quilters.
As someone who has never quilted before and is interested in learning, QAYG makes quilting look less challenging, especially with Judy’s expertise. Also, quilting each block individually before attaching it to the rest of my quilt seems much less stressful than working with one huge quilt.
