Kim Diehl’s Simple Double-Dipped Quilts Mystery Holiday Stitch-Along: Part 1

Welcome to Part 1 of Kim Diehl’s Simple Double-Dipped Mystery Holiday Stitch-Along! Read below to find directions for cutting and piecing fabric.
TABLE RUNNER
Cutting
From each of the 6 red and 6 green prints, cut:
- 1 square, 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" (combined total of 12)
- 1 strip, 1 1/2" x 10" (combined total of 12)
- Keep the pieces organized by print into 6 red and 6 green patchwork sets.
From the cream print, cut:
- 4 strips, 3" × 21"; crosscut into 24 squares, 3" × 3" (Note: binding will be cut in Part 3.)
Instructions
1. From the red and green patchwork sets, choose six red 6 1⁄4" squares and six green 1 1⁄2" × 10" strips. Reserve the remainder of the red and green patchwork sets for Part 2.
2. Referring to the Raising the Roof project in your Simple Double-Dipped Quilts book, follow “Piecing the
Fractured Half-Square-Triangle Block,” steps 1–6 beginning
on page 52, to piece six red blocks with green center strips.
Reserve the unused cream 3" squares for Part 2.

Cutting
From each of the 18 red and 18 green prints, cut:
- 1 square, 6 1⁄4" × 6 1⁄4" (combined total of 36)
- 1 strip, 1 1⁄2" × 10" (combined total of 36)
- Keep the pieces organized by print into 18 red and 18 green patchwork sets.
From the cream print, cut:
- 6 strips, 3" × 42"; crosscut into 72 squares, 3" × 3" (Note: binding will be cut in Part 3.)
Instructions
1. From the red and green patchwork sets, choose 18 red 6 1⁄4" squares and 18 green 1 1⁄2" × 10" strips. Reserve the remainder of the red and green patchwork sets for Part 2.
2. Referring to the Raising the Roof project in your
Simple Double-Dipped Quilts book, follow “Piecing the
