Interview with Riel Nason
Posted by Riel Nason on Mar 20th 2017
Riel Nason is the author of popular Modern Selvage Quilting and the upcoming book, Sew a Modern Halloween. In this interview, she opens up about writing and quilting to C&T.
What was your favorite part of the book writing or production process?
I really enjoyed writing the introduction and opening sections of my books. I love writing and wanted to make my books fun to read, as well as having great projects and pattern instructions. Trying to make the narrative just as engaging and appealing as the photos and designs was a challenge I enjoyed.
What are your go-to colors?
I love brights. I love orange and yellow especially!
What projects are you working on right now?
I currently have so, so, so many unquilted tops that I think 2017 will be the year of quilting them.
What is the one tool or notion you can’t live without?
My seam ripper! I rarely make it through a project without making some little mistake or changing my mind about something so I always like to have it nearby.
Thank you, Riel!
