Hand Embroidery Dictionary Blog Tour
Posted by Christen Brown on Sep 20th 2021
I am proud to announce that my book the Hand Embroidery Dictionary is HERE! Within the 160 pages you will find 16 stitch families or groups, with over 500+ stitches. There are both right-hand and left-hand directions for the basic stitches, with variations upon variations!
As a reader you probably identify the cover, title, and content of the book with the author’s name. But in all fairness, it does take a village, and all hands-on deck (to use a few metaphors), to create a book. Let me introduce to you the team of experts that were involved in the taking the Hand Embroidery Dictionary from my idea to a reality.
Roxane Cerda is the Acquisitions Editor, who took my initial idea and helped to develop it into a viable proposal for the Editorial Staff.
Amy Barret-Daffin the Publisher and Gailen Runge the Creative Director are members of the Editorial Staff, which also includes a host of the following editors. They make all the big decisions!
Liz Aneloski is the Senior Editor who presided over all the stages and aspects of the book and was the go-to mentor to all of us.
Karla Menaugh is the Developmental Editor, who took the first draft of the manuscript and determined what needed to be changed before the final draft was turned in, then prepared the final draft for the next stage of the manuscript.
Helen Young Frost is the Technical Editor who took on the next stage of the manuscript where the text was corrected and prepared my illustrations for the illustrator.
Linda Johnson is the Illustrator who took those hand-drawn illustrations and adjusted any existing ones already in the C&T Publishing library.
Estefany Gonzales and Lauren Herberg are the Photographers, who photographed the materials, the how-tos, the samples and the gallery pieces.
April Mosteck is the Cover and Book Designer who created the front and back covers of the book, and every page within.
Tim Manibusan is one of the Production Coordinators who took over the next two stages of the manuscript, focusing on the placement of the images and illustrations.
Jennifer Warren is one of the Production Editors who worked on editing the two final rounds of the manuscript.
Alice and Zinnia are also members of the Production Staff who were called in to lend a helping hand so that we could meet the final deadline of the manuscript, which was to send it off to the printer!
Lynn Ford, Alexandra Quilici and Jessica Vaughn are the Promotional Staff, who take the book under their wings, helping to promote the book and get it into stores, shops and to you, the reader.
My deepest, heartfelt gratitude and thanks are sent to each one of these people, who were involved in this project. WHEW, we did it!
