NOTES: SCRAP SELECTION
- The background of the quilt can be a single piece of a light neutral fabric or pieced from scraps with little contrast.
- The dots should vary in color, ranging from light pink to black. They can be pieced or single pieces of fabric. Feel free to fussy cut particular designs from your scraps.
- Make sure you have significant contrast between the background fabric and the dots.
Assembly
1. Sew the neutral scraps for the background together to measure slightly larger than 301/2˝ 301/2˝, and then trim to 301/2˝ x 301/2˝.
2. Piece and press the small scraps together to make pieces large enough to cut out the dots (a circle rotary cutter can help with this) measuring 3˝ finished.
NOTE: If you are using turn-under appliqué, be sure to add your preferred seam allowance. For raw-edge appliqué, cut to the finished size.
3. Arrange the circles on the background and baste or pin them in place. Appliqué the circles onto the background
fabric, using your favorite method.
Finishing
