Discover Shibori Virtual Book Tour
Posted by Debbie Maddy on Oct 7th 2024
I am excited to announce that the Virtual Book Tour for my new book, Discover Shibori, starts today!
Inspired by those I have taught and those who have taught me, I am thrilled to be sharing my deep passion for Shibori Indigo dyeing with you in my book, Discover Shibori. I have had the privilege of studying with Bryan Whitehead in Japan, Jane Callender in England and learning from African artists Gasali Adeyemo and Aboubakar Fofana as well as other Shibori artists across the United States. I had the great pleasure of learning from Takayuki Ishii and his wife Tomo when they were visiting the U.S. from Japan. These teachers have generously taught me this amazing art and I am thrilled to offer you the opportunity to learn through my book.
My career in Shibori Indigo dyeing began with simple techniques that I share in the book along with more advanced techniques now included in my current practice. Drawing on my now extensive teaching experience, I will lead you through methods that produce beautiful results plus a few simple projects to show off your new skills. Each piece you make will be a unique and magical expression of your personal creativity!
