Congratulations to Our IQA-Winning Authors!

There was an impressive turnout at this year's International Quilt Association's annual judged show, Quilts: A World of Beauty. From the jaw-dropping Brilliant Rose, winner of The Founders Award, to the wonderfully intricate Blue Plate Special, winner of The Superior Threads Master Award for Thread Artistry, the champion quilts this year were outstanding–which is why we are so proud to say that three C&T authors are among the winners!
Sally Collins' stunning quilt Discovery (on the left) took first prize in the Innovative Pieced category–appropriate considering she is the author of Mastering Precision Piecing, among others.
Laura Wasilowski, author of Fanciful Stitches, Colorful Quilts, was the second-place winner in the Art–Miniature category with her Bird on a Branch #6 (on the right).
And Jennifer Day's gorgeous Cuban Ballerina won second place in the Digital Imagery category. (You can read more about her process behind the quilt here, and the quilt is featured in her recent book, Thread Stories).
A big congratulations to all three winners!
