Beautiful and Functional Organizers

One of the aspects I enjoy most about sewing is the ability to create objects that are both beautiful and functional. Since I seem to endlessly acquire all of those sewing notions that promise to make my life easier, I also appear to be in constant need of organizing solutions to store them all!
When I created the projects for my new book Stitched Sewing Organizers, I used this functional need as a starting point to create various useful items that will come in handy, both in your sewing space and also when stitching on the go. All the projects were designed to work together—the smaller projects are sized to fit into the larger ones, and there are projects for all skill levels. Many of the projects will also work for a variety of other needs such as knitting, travel, kids' toys, and more.
You will find plenty of tips and tricks for installing zippers, sewing with vinyl, using the correct interfacing to give your projects the required structure, and more.
One of my favorite projects from the book is the Fold-Up Sewing Folio. This super useful pouch opens up to reveal plenty of pockets, a pincushion, and a needle book. Lots of room for keeping all your sewing essentials in one place and perfect to use for English paper piecing, appliqué, binding, or embroidery. The pouch folds up neatly and securely with a stylish tab closure.
With summer fast approaching, you will find many of the finished projects handy to throw in your bag or suitcase to take with you—whether you are planning a visit to the pool or going on a road trip.
Whatever you do, happy sewing!
