Bargello Inspiration

I am the lucky technical editor who got to work with Ruth Ann Berry on her latest book, Braided Bargello Quilts. I have always been fascinated by the Bargello technique, and Ruth’s newest book includes so many ideas!
Of the ten bed-size projects and six smaller wallhangings she designed, these are my top three favorites:
Ruth named this quilt Hoses in the Shed and noted, “More organized gardeners store their watering hoses neatly wrapped around a hose wheel. My hoses spend their winters tossed in the shed and their springs being untangled from the knotted chaos.” I love the look of the garden hoses atop her flowers.
This quilt is named Tackle Box for Ruth’s fishing tackle box full of tangled hooks.
Bargelly Drew depicts the colors of nature; can’t you just see the tall trees and sky?
Which leads me to thinking about the quilt I want to make for my nephew, who loves hiking, camping, and the great outdoors. Thanks for the ideas, Ruth Ann! Now I just need to find the fabrics.
