Award winning "Free Tibet" Quilt now Jigsaw Puzzle!
Posted by Meri Henriques Vahl on Jan 19th 2021
I’ve always loved jigsaw puzzles, so it was a real thrill when C&T offered to produce a 1000 piece puzzle for me, based on my award-winning quilt, ‘Free Tibet’. In creating the quilt, it was my fantasy that if the Dalai Lama was able to go back to his beautiful homeland, the local people would come out to greet him and celebrate, dressed in their traditional costumes.
I do sometimes think about this paradox, though: it’s terrible that his country was invaded, and that he was forced to leave – however, it that hadn’t happened, the people of the world would never have had the privilege of knowing him and hearing the wisdom of his words.
My puzzle, is now available just in time for the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday, and my book , ‘Create Landscape Quilts: A Step-by-Step Guide to Dynamic People & Places’, also from C&T, will be released on February 2021.
