The All-in-One Quilter's Reference Tool is sure to be the reference tool your customers reach for again and again. It's the perfect companion C&T's 3-in-1 Color Tool and Quick & Easy Block Tool. Help your customers make the most of this wonderful resource by offering a variety of classes based on the tool.

The All-in-One Quilter's Reference Tool can serve as a "textbook" for both brief overview and longer project classes. Short, informational sessions cover topics such as settings and finishing, while in the multi-session class incorporates the tool in the design, planning, and assembly of a complete quilt.

  1. 10-MINUTE SHOP DEMO
    A 10-minute shop demo is a good way to show customers how comprehensive the tool is - and how easy to use, as well!
    In The Shop
    Use the Quick-Start Guide (pages 6-7) to review the contents of the tool so customers get an overview of everything they can use the tool for. A review of the Contents (pages 3-5) provides an in-depth review of available information.

  2. SETTINGS (3 hours; no sewing)
    A hands-on planning class to explore different setting options for straight-set and diagonal-set quilts. Students learn how to calculate quilt and block sizes, as well as yardage requirements for any block-based quilt.

In the Classroom - Straight-Set Quilts

    Discussion should include:
  • Standard bed sizes (pages 9-10)
  • Block size, number of blocks needed, and final quilt size (pages 11-14)
  • Number of sashings and cornerstones needed and their effect on quilt size (pages 11 & 15)
  • Figuring yardage for blocks and borders (pages 24-31)
  • Refer to "Decimal/Fraction Equivalents" and "Yardage to Inches and Decimals" (page 23)

In the Classroom - Diagonal-Set Quilts

    Discussion should include:
  • Diagonal measurements for squares (page 16)
  • Block size, quilt size, and number of blocks needed for on-point setting (pages 18-20)
  • Number of sashings and cornerstones needed and their effect on quilt size (pages 17 and 22)
  • How to cut and calculate side and corner setting triangles (pages 21-22)
  • Figuring yardage for blocks and borders (pages 24-31)
