Jennifer is an ASID Interior Designer, goldsmith, photographer, and art quilter who began quilting in 2010. Her photographs tell stories, depicting people in a realistic manner, which are the images covered in thread in her art quilts. Her unique technique, using up to 300 different colors of thread in a single quilt, has attracted interest from international galleries, museums, and publications.
Jennifer enjoys teaching her students how to tell stories in thread and giving lectures and workshops to guilds and groups. She has worked with Gütermann to develop The Jennifer Day Thread Stories line of threads that offers 120 colors specifically chosen from the Mara line for thread-painted portraiture.
When she’s not quilting, Jennifer is a rancher in New Mexico and travels to the hospital and cancer wards with her old English sheepdog, B Bear. She is married to Jimmy and has three children, the last of whom was a blessing when he unexpectedly arrived in this world when she was 48 years old.
“People are my passion. There is a story in everyone. My goal is to help individuals tell their stories through art.” —Jennifer Day
